MAID OF THE MIST

Now we will take you with us on our boat ride under the falls. In this picture you can see one of the boats that we rode on. They are all called Maid of the mist. This comes from an old indian story in which a young indian maiden, unhappy with her new husband - chosen for her - rowed a canoe over the falls. The story goes that the god of the waterfall caught her and made her his husband (hopefully he was better looking). Anyway the rainbow is supposed to give us an idea of her beauty. She is called the Maid of the mist.
