Mount Rushmore

 

Dawn took us to see Mount Rushmore and the Needles in the Black Hills.  What a beautiful place they live in.

The day we saw Mount Rushmore and took these pictures, the weather was off and on sunny and pouring down rain so some of the pictures came out rather dark.  However we had a great time and saw some of the prettiest scenery in the world.

The Needles is what they call these funny looking mountains around Mt. Rushmore.
And some more - the pictures don't do them justice.
The road used to view the back country in the Black Hills is so steep that they use these "pigtail" roads to climb the hills.  They also have several tunnels blasted through the mountains.  Spectacular.
